2023 NEWS

  1. Centenary Triples Success 2023

For the third successive year Dunmow brought back the trophy. After the first game of six ends we were bottom of the score board but an outstanding second game saw us seven points in the lead which was considerably increased in the last 6 ends game. As usual we also won 75% of the raffle prizes. The three centenary clubs, Brightlingsea, Courtaulds and Dunmow have now hosted the event and next year we are again at Brightlingsea to start the challenge all over again.

  2. Ladies “Rose Bowl” Friendly 2023

During our recent Triples x3 match played at DBC on Wednesday 23rd August the home team on rink 3 scored a “Hotshot” on one end. Well done to Lynda Reed, Joy Green and Maxine Watling.

  3. Annie Monk Trophy 2023

Last night, the 7th of July, Dunmow entered two mixed teams in the Annie Monk Trophy, one team at home the other away, playing against a very competent Silver End team we were able to get one win and our other team lost by the narrowest of margins, one point.
Now on the evening of 21st July we play in a quarter final match at home, and it would be great to have some support as the team we are playing will want it as much as we do.
But a very WELL DONE to all who put their name down to play, everybody done so well on the night.

  4. Dunmow’s own NWE round robin 2023

On Tuesday 5 September 2023 we held an afternoon competition on a very hot day, originally designed to see which NWE team could triumph over each other. But due to its popularity 36 members we can now include our ladies and we had four teams A, B, C,and D each with three triples. We played 3 games of 6 end the overall scores totalled, and the winners were announced with a draw between team A and C being made up of mostly our ladies with 51 points then team C with 47 and team D with 44 points. Followed by refreshments. It was encouraging to have enthusiastic numbers and hopefully next year we will be back to having our three teams in the NWE competition.
